Genevieve's parents are in Toronto now and will be leaving next monday. They have been really nice and accommodating. They showed Yi Ling and I around Toronto when we first arrived and gave us lots of helpful tips and moral support.
The food served was chinese fare - each of us had a bowl of brown rice and we ordered four side dishes - tofu, vegetables in green curry, stir fried vegetables and chicken in soya sauce. The soya sauce chicken reminded me of my mum's cooking.
During the meal, I realised how much I miss my mum's cooking and Singaporean food in general. In addition, I miss having one bowl of rice with a variety of side dishes to go with the rice, which is what I usually have at home! I think most Singaporean Chinese families eat this way too.
Then we went to Kensington market and Chinatown.
