Yi Ling and I went on a trip to the abovementioned two places organised by the International Student Centre (ISC).
St Jacobs Village is lovely and quaint. It feels wonderful to step into a place where the surroundings are more serene and the pace of life is slower. We went to a museum where we learned more about the Mennonites and their way of life. I left the museum with amazement and respect for the Mennonite people - many of them chose to lead simple lives and are very committed to their Christian faith. Shows us that it is possible to lead a happy and peaceful life free of the pressures of modernity and materialism.

Then it was off to elora gorge, a conservation area. Basically it is like a forest. I expected to see flora and fauna but there wasn't any. Nevertheless, it is still a beautiful place.

Alas, the sight of people smoking at the elora gorge was disturbing to me. This is a conservation area...
On the bus journey back I took more lovely photos.
